They had reps at F19 the final week explaining they would be taking over our memberships and keeping our current rate plans, also explaining the amenities and location of their club. We were really wanting to enjoy it here, and the staff was super friendly when we came in. I’m not a gym snob at all, but I did manage the operations for a 24 Hour fitness about a decade ago, and we had newer equipment than this place. Their cardio equipment is a hodgepodge of stuff that looks about 20 years old. I saw someone step on a machine and a piece of plastic broke off. There are loose wires coming out of the ground not connected to anything and they have duct tape holding other wires to the carpet.
So technically, we are not those «Oh, it’s a new year so I’m going to join a gym for a month and then quit!» people. We just didn’t have the money to join until Santa helped us out.
The equipment looks newer and the locker room was very nice. I have to mention how much I like the «private» stall changing areas that PF is known for. The staff was nice and professional as I inquired about possibly switching my membership. I wanted to leave this review because if you’re close enough to this PF and considering a membership, you will not be disappointed!
The Boyfriend and I then went to use the massage chairs — now technically his membership doesn’t allow him to use the massage equipment but I got an Em excesso token for him just so he could tell if he liked it or not.
–This place is very cheap. You can get deals with practically no joining fee and like 10 bucks a month. But they charge an annual fee of like 30 or quarenta bucks. Even though I fell for this, I really hate Aqui this practice. It’s not technically misleading, but it is though.
The class I take is aimed at the «older, independent adult.» There are plenty of us in that class. Our trainer is great and takes our individual problems into account. I was so proud of myself – and surprised! – when I made it through my first workout class! Me, who hates exercise!

Let’s just say if I had to choose between running a couple miles or taking her class it would be this class hands down! Not only was the music a nice addition but the atmosphere was amazing. She was able to teach while performing so that a ballet novice, like myself, would be able to do the simple moves and do them properly. Even if you are a guy I highly recommend going. I did and I’m going back for more classes. I’ve brought a couple out and they both loved it as well! This is definitely worth checking out!
The Verifique Aqui juice bar made great smoothies and there was plenty of exercise equipment. Even if we went at the busiest time of day, we usually didn’t have to wait very long to use what we wanted. This is where I started taking spinning classes, and the instructors were so nice and felt like real people, that I just kept going. If you are thinking about joining this gym, I say go for it.
The clientele here is a mixing pot, young and old, ripped and not so much. I’ve always felt comfortable working out here.
